Untitled Series

This body of work first began when I visited an exhibition in London in December 2025, where I came across Boris Mikhailov’s writing about working in series. He described the parable of the blind men and the elephant, where each person can only understand the part they are touching, and only through bringing those different perspectives together can the elephant become whole. What stayed with me was his idea that a single image cannot contain an absolute truth, and that the relationship between images can create something greater than any one image could hold.

I couldn’t stop thinking about this. Shortly afterwards, I took a “thinking trip” to the southern coast of England. I went there deliberately to sit and think about everything that had brought me to that point: childhood, memory, nature, the feeling of constantly searching for something, and the strange intimacy of remembering what it felt like to exist inside my own body.

The nine charcoal drawings came out of that period of thinking, and I began making them sometime in June 2026. They are fragments of memory rather than illustrations of particular stories. Some come from specific moments, while others emerge from feelings. These drawings hold everything I have thought about since that trip, but also everything that came before it.

The drawings are arranged as one possible sequence, but the sequence is not intended to dictate a single story. They can be entered from anywhere and connected in any order. Ultimately, this work is about searching without necessarily knowing what I am searching for, and the strange comfort of carrying places and feelings that no longer exist in the same way.
